On January 11, Dr. Laura Reyes Alardo, PhD, joined our university as Academic Vice-Chancellor. She is a graduate in Dentistry from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE); Specialist in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery; holds a Master’s Degree in Higher Education and a PhD in Educational Leadership, Higher Education from Western Michigan University (WMU).
She has training in University Management and Leadership, Evaluation and Accreditation of Higher Education Institutions and Dental Programs; she also has training in the development and implementation of Competency-Based Curriculum, Problem-Based Learning and Clinical Skills.
She is an expert in Education by Competencies and has 27 years of experience in undergraduate and graduate teaching in local and foreign universities. She has 14 years of experience in administrative management in higher education.
She is a local and international speaker, member of the second cohort of Ministerio de Educación Superior, Ciencia y Tecnología’s national research career (2019) and member of the Scientific Committee of the Digital Journal of the Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia.
National Advisor of the Ministerio de Educación Superior, Ciencia y Tecnología (MESCyT) Dentistry Career Regulations (First Phase) and active Member of the Rectoral Board, International Association for Dental Research (IADR), the Colegio Dominicano de Odontólogos (CDO) and the Sociedad Dominicana de Cirugía Bucal (SODOCIBUMAX).
